Baroque is the designation given to any pearl that is irregularly shaped (that is, not round). The ovoid shape of the Baroque pearl in this Drops of Petal Necklace highlights the natural lines and craters that form on the surface of a pearl as it takes shape. This gives it a lunar quality as present on the surface of the moon.
Baroque pearls are the most likely off all pearls to exhibit a quality known as “Orient,” a rainbow-like iridescence that emanates as light hits their surface. It’s this spectral effect that inspired artisan Martha Lopez to use them in her exclusive Blue Gobi design.

The porous nature of Baroque pearls demands extra care. To maintain their luster: 1) avoid exposure to household chemicals like hair spray, perfume and cleaning products; 2) gently wipe them with a warm damp cloth to remove body oils and perspiration; 3) when storing, keep them separate from other gemstones and metals that may scratch them.
Silver 950 should be stored in an airtight container with a soft lining. Cleaning with soap and water and buffing with a soft cloth will keep your silver 950 shiny as new. Avoid exposure of your silver 950 to abrasive cleansers and bleach, which may cause discoloration.
