In Northern Thailand, a region of the country called Chao Khao by the Thai people, nomadic Hill Tribes make their home. One of these tribes is the Mael Tribe, whose members hand-weave Pa-Mael cotton, a Thai tradition dating back centuries.
The North Thai cotton used in this bag and coin purse is called Pafai-Muang, and because it is handmade, its pattern tends to be unique. The Mael tribe members are constantly creating new pattern on the cottons they weave, and they never repeat the same pattern again for production purposes. This bag is one-of-a-kind and cannot be found elsewhere.
