This hobo bag hails from the souks of Marrakech. The Medina there is a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) site. The retro style of this bag gives it an 1970s American flavor with an authentic Moroccan twist. In Morocco, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has helped two Moroccan cooperatives establish contracts that enable the country’s farmers to sell their sheep directly to customers as opposed to through middlemen. The end result is higher prices and profits for the farmer.
The sheep that Moroccan artisan Lahbila Said buys from his fellow countrymen are hand-selected for the quality of their leather. The leather is tanned and dyed and then hand-cut and –stitched into beautiful leather goods like this hobo bag.

Because it is a natural material, leather needs to breathe. It should, therefore, be stored in a cool, dry place that is well ventilated. Never store your sheep-leather products in plastic bags. Also, avoid exposing your sheep leather to harsh light and sunshine. To remove everyday dirt from your sheep leather, periodically wipe it with a water-dampened cloth.
