Aventurine is a form of quartz.
The sparkling quality of the quartz mineral metallic iridescence to aventurines. Aventurine is a mica-flecked stone that comes in green, silver, yellow, reddish-brown, greenish-brown, bluish green and orange shades. However, the Aventurine crystals reflect a wide range of additional colors. Deposits of aventurine are found across the globe, including South America, Asia, Europe, Africa and North America. The aventurine’s name comes from the Italian phrase “a ventura,” meaning “by chance.”
