Vermeil, or gilded silver, serves as the foundation for this Keishi Flower Petal Pearl and Swarovski Necklace. The milky color and texture of the Keishi pearls that thread the vermeil chain are redolent of magnolia petals. Strategically interspersed among the pearl clusters are vermeil spacers and rose-colored Swarovski crystals, which add a romantic touch of color to this one-of-a-kind Keishi Flower Petal Pearl and Swarovski Necklace. Romance is the cornerstone behind artist Zachary Bloom’s inspiration. A vermeil S clasp secures this 19-inch necklace at the nape of the neck. In Japanese, the word “Keishi” translates to “poppy seed” and, aside from their contrasting color, the random cluster arrangement of the freshwater pearls that stud this necklace look very much like the scarlet poppies that might dot a rural countryside field.
A continent away from Japan, in Bohemia, the production of Swarovski crystal first began in 1895. The first market for them was for use in formal evening wear during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
This necklace is 19 inches long, and it’s mixture of color and design convey a refined sense of romance.

The porous nature of Keishi pearls demands extra care. To maintain their luster: 1) avoid exposure to household chemicals like hair spray, perfume and cleaning products; 2) gently wipe them gently with a warm damp cloth to remove body oils and perspiration; 3) when storing, keep them separate from other gemstones and metals that may scratch them.
The same care tips apply to the Swarovski crystals in this necklace. However, if your crystals become dirty, you may wash them occasionally with warm water, a mild detergent and a soft toothbrush.
Avoid vigorous polishing of your vermeil jewelry so as not to destroy the gold coating, and never expose it to moisture. Keeping it in a zip-lock bag will prevent moisture and humidity from attacking it.
