Batzorig Dugarsuren was born in 1979 in Sukhbaatar aimag Baruun-Urt, Mongolia. He attended the Design College “Stegemj” in Ulaanbaatar, and later went on to the University of Fine Art, in Mongolia. Now
a freelance artist, Batzorig has displayed his work in several
exhibitions, many of which have been associated with the Union of
Mongolian Arts (UMA), the largest, non-profit, arts organization which
supports Mongolian fine arts and art crafts. Batzorig’s personal artistic style focuses on the use of circular forms, an ancient Mongolian symbol for energy. With each stroke of the brush, his technique is materialized into a distinctive work of art. In
addition to using oils on canvas, Batzorig also works with the natural
element of sand to produce architectural pieces on the ground. Among
his numerous exhibitions, Batzorig has displayed his work in UMA’s
annual public exposition, “Spring,” which aims to promote innovative
ideas and young artists. He has also participated in “Autumn,” an exhibit that acknowledges the best artworks of that year. In 2005, Batzorig received a top honor: he was presented with the “best artwork” award in the Spring exhibition. In addition, his art has been acquired and showcased in numerous countries including Germany, Holland, and Russia.
