Amarasaikhan Namsrai is a young Mongolian artist with a great passion for his home and country. His
educational experience includes attendance of the Setgemj Design Fine
Art School, as well as, the Mongolian University of Art and Culture of
Ulaanbaatar city, Mongolia, where he received a bachelor’s degree. Amarsaikhan
is a member of the Union of Mongolian Arts (UMA), the largest
organization created to promote Mongolian arts and art crafts. Amarasaikhan
has been participating in local and international exhibitions since
2002, including those sponsored by UMA, the Zanabazar fine art museum,
and Hanadu Art Gallery in Mongolia. In addition, he has displayed his work internationally in Vigo, Spain. Amarasaikhan has also offered solo exhibitions with great success. Maintaining
close ties with Mongolian arts and culture, he has presented his art
work in the “Great Mongolia” exposition, which was dedicated to the 800th anniversary of the state of Mongolia. Much of Amarasaikhan’s paintings depict elements of Mongolia’s history, culture and values. For
example, pieces like “Two Shamans,” bring to light Mongolia’s close
relationship with Shamanism, an ancient philosophy of nature that was
once at the peak of intellectual thinking. Also, his
striking painting “Ghenghis Khan and his Ghost Warriors” honors Ghengis
Khan, the founder of the Mongol empire, the second largest empire in
history. As his paintings prove, Amarasaikhan is a man whose respect and honor for his culture plays a vital role in who he is.
